The MK Community Foundation’s Community Car Raffle drew to a very successful close last week at an evening hosted at Volkswagen’s Head Office.

Loyal event sponsors Volkswagen Group UK Ltd and thecentre:mk gathered to celebrate with the local groups and charities who sold the tickets to raise funds for their community activities.

The first place winner, Andrew Evans, was delighted with his brand new red VW Golf, and was thrilled to drive it off of the forecourt at the end of the evening. Evans’ winning ticket was sold to him by The Royal British Legion Jubilee Branch at thecentre:mk.

Since the Community Car Raffle began, 23 years ago, it has raised over £950,000 for the local community and this year, once again, Bosom Pals sold the most tickets, earning themselves an extra cheque for £100.

The Community Car Raffle is a unique event which combines the generosity and support of the sponsors with the commitment of the local community groups; the collaboration brings great benefits to the voluntary sector in Milton Keynes.

The MK Community extends grateful thanks to thecentre:mk for donating the prime display location for the car and Volkswagen Group UK Ltd for donating the beautiful Red VW Golf.
