Once upon a time, pupils visited one of Barratt Homes' developments for a day of storytelling to mark National Storytelling Week.
Youngsters from Queen Eleanor Primary School were welcomed at the homebuilder’s Fairfields site where they nestled down in a comfortable show house to be regaled by the tales of professional storyteller Richard York.
Richard, a member of the Society or Storytelling, entertained children from across the year groups.
He also played a selection of instruments, including a Greek lyre and a medieval Celtic-style harp used by traditional storytellers, to add to the soundscape of his narratives.
