ORGANISERS of a Bank Holiday weekend of entertainment have come up with a novel way of boosting the Citizen-backed Food Bank Appeal.

For they have waived all ticket prices to any event – including even a live set from famous DJ Artful Dodger.

Instead people are asked to bring an item of food from the list required by MK Food Bank.

“For a can of beans or a pack of pasta, people can have hours of fun!” said organiser Kirstie Duffy from Real Music MK. The entertainment is all centred around the Cricketers pub in Oldbrook and starts on Saturday, May 5, with a car boot sale. Old Skool legend the Artful Dodger will play live at the pub that night for the over 18s, while the following day, Sunday, will be devoted to family fun. There will be stalls, sideshows, a nail bar, family Olympic races, cheerleading displays and even masterclasses in football from world record football freestyler Dan Magness.
