Auditions for Fame The Musical brings stage experience for young performers

You don’t need any previous musical theatre experience but if you’d like the opportunity to perform onstage at Milton Keynes Theatre for this year’s Stage Experience production which is presented in the summer.

Stage Experience is a summer holiday performance project produced by MKT’s creative learning department. Fame will be the theatre’s fifth critically acclaimed youth production – previous credits include West Side Story, Guys and Dolls, Footloose and The Wiz.

A two-week rehearsal period is followed by the chance to discover what life is really like as a musical theatre performer.

You will need to be prepared to get up and sing, dance and act before a panel of working professionals at the auditions which will take place at Milton Keynes College on Thursday, April 7 at 10am for students in school years 5 – 11, then at 2pm for students in school years 12, 13, or university years 1-3 (or equivalent) - maximum age 21. There will be second round recall auditions on Friday April 8 at 10am.

The creative team brought in to produce the show includes director Robert Marsden, choreographer Laura-Ann Smith and local musical director Matthew Reeve.

With high quality set design and the addition of a live orchestra, Milton Keynes Theatre’s youth productions are an unforgettable experience for all the young cast who take part.

Rehearsals for Fame take place at Milton Keynes College with three performances at the end of the project on the Milton Keynes Theatre stage.

There are 100 places in the cast available for young people aged 10 to 21 years. You must be available for all rehearsal dates, including weekends, between Monday, July 25 and Saturday, August 6.
