Awesome Alejandro

A LITTLE trip to Buckingham will give you big returns this Friday evening, when Alejandro Escovedo takes to The Radcliffe Centre stage.

Words and melody are his life, and his work is depth ridden, emotional and honest.

In a career forever on a steady rise he has built a big fanbase of followers, and fellow artists paid tribute to him on the double CD album Por Vida – John Cale, Calexico, Steve Earle, Lucinda Williams, Howe Gelb, Ian Hunter and The Jayhawks all covering a slice of his extensive catalogue.

Sheila E participated too, but then the Prince associate is his niece.

A new 2CD Best Of compilation hit stores on Monday, and you can see the man and hear his music from 8pm.

Tickets are £15 adv, £17 on the doors, which open at 7pm.
