VOLUNTEERS are being urged to make sure they have the correct first aid skills.

And they will get their chance to brush up on their knowledge when St John Ambulance hosts a free first aid session on Saturday, June 25.

The charity will be holding its first Be the Difference day and is insisting learning the necessary skills can ofrten be as important as the difference between life and death.

Be the Difference day co-ordinator Lizzie Billingham said: “You never know when you may need first aid. It could be in the home, at work or just out and about.”

Be the Difference sessions, which will be available for people of all ages, will be held at the St John Ambulance centres in Blackmoor Gate, Furzton and Oxman Lane, Greenleys.
