Frosts Garden Centre is bringing in extra ice lollies, sun cream and jugs of refreshing drinks ahead of this week’s heatwave, as the UK prepares for temperatures to reach over 30 degrees.
The garden centre in Woburn Sands has its team of lifeguards at the ready to cater for the abnormal weather as they anticipate the Mediterranean temperatures will bring parents and children to bask in the glorious sun and sand.
“It’s what everyone is talking about this week; that and the tennis,” says James Frost, managing director at Frosts.
“So we’re prepared for both with our fully shaded beach, which is ideal to relax, take your socks off, roll up your trousers and enjoy an ice-cream.
“Plus we’re screening the entire coverage of Wimbledon in our restaurant, which you can enjoy with our special afternoon tea,”
Through the whole of summer, the Frosts beach will be open and comes complete with a Victorian carousel and fun filled activities.
“Each day throughout summer there will be three two hour sessions with storytelling, beach games and at least two carousel rides, leaving enough time for free play and sandcastle making!
“The morning and afternoon sessions cost £4.99 per child and include unlimited squash and fruit. The lunch session costs £6.99 and includes a children’s lunch box.
The morning session runs from 9.30am–11.30am, the lunch session runs from 12:00pm-2:00pm, and the afternoon session runs from 2:30pm-4:30pm. Please note that there are no morning sessions on Sundays.
> During Wimbledon, and for the first time in its history, Frosts Garden Centre at Woburn Sands will be welcoming tennis lovers to enjoy a spectacular afternoon tea whilst catching the action live on screen from Monday 29 June until Sunday 12 July.
For £19.99 per person, customers can enjoy a delectable spread of sandwiches, Pimms fruit shots topped with miniature chocolate tennis rackets, a glass of Prosecco and a fresh pot of tea, accompanied by a sumptuous selection of desserts, including lemon & lavender cupcakes, mini citrus pavlovas, Wimbledon cakes and delicious freshly baked scones with jam and clotted cream. All waitress served in a Wimbledon inspired room with screenings of the daily tournaments.
