A CHUBBY man with a nostril ring and a can of beer in his hand is wanted after he approached a mum and picked up her child.

The mother, along with another woman, had to challenge him and take back the 20-month-old boy.

The incident took place at about 1.40pm laast Monday (November 19) on a Redway in Newport Pagnell running parallel to the M1.

The man picked up the baby and held him, before heading off towards Blakelands after returning the child.

He is described as white, in his mid-forties, 6ft tall, of chubby build, with long black shoulder length hair, a ring in his left nostril and a stud in the right side of his bottom lip.

He was scruffy and was drinking a can of beer. He was wearing a knee-length khaki coat and black jeans which had been cut at the bottom, along with drak books.

He was also carrying a blue rucksack.

Investigating officer, PC Alana Heaver, said: “The child was not injured during the incident and there was no attempt made to take him away, but we would still like to speak to the man as we are treating this as a suspicious incident.

“I would also like to trace a woman who helped the mother during the incident, as she will have information which could assist our investigation.”

Anyone with information should call PC Heaver on 101.
