Little literature lovers at Busy Bees Nursery adore the amazing stories of beloved children’s author Roald Dahl so it was only right that they celebrated his birthday in imaginative style.
Children and staff at the Oldbrook nursery brought the ever-popular writer’s colourful characters to life as they donned their fancy dress, shared his stories and rhymes and painted their favourite Dahl creations.
Sunday, September 13 would have been the author’s 99th birthday and children all over the country have enjoyed similar Roald Dahl Day celebrations in recognition of his lasting legacy.
Nursery manager Lorraine Harben said: “Our children adore story time and love every Roald Dahl book that we read together, and this is testament to the manner in which his stories capture their imaginations.
“Roald Dahl Day provides a great opportunity to ensure that his tales live on within children and adults alike. The children had so much fun today, and we will definitely be helping to keep his memory, and body of work, very much alive in our nursery again next year.”
