Nearly five years ago the Swan Inn in Milton Keynes Village was left devastated by a fire.

But within 12 months the 13th centuiry pub was restored to its original glory and has continued to go from strength-to-strength ever since, being named the best pub in the South East at the prestigious National Pub & Bar Awards for the quality of food and service.

The judges had to choose from 94 pubs and bars nationwide for the awards.

Steve Wilkins, founder of Little Gems Country Dining, said: “We were delighted to have been recognised by the National Pub & Bar Awards for our quality and service.

“We have worked hard not only to restore the look of our 700-year-old pub over the past five years, but also with our team to impress customers with the quality of our food and the service we deliver, so it’s fantastic to be acknowledged for all our efforts.

“We’re continuing to grow our business and we’re looking forward to adding specialised staff to our team as a result of our success.”
