This is the face of a Bletchley man who sexually assaulted a 26-year-old woman while she was asleep after breaking into her house on Christmas day.

A photograph of Lee Clinkard, 27, of Mellish Court, was released by Thames Valley Police today following his sentencing on Tuesday.

He was handed two-and-a-half years in prison for burglary and 15 months in prison for sexual assault, to run concurrently, after pleading guilty last Tuesday.

After breaking into a multi-occupancy address through an insecure rear door at around 3.12am, Clinkard entered a downstairs bedroom and sexually assaulted the victim who was asleep in the bed.

He was chased from the address by male occupants and subsequently arrested.

Clinkard, who was sentenced to 30 months in prison at Aylesbury Crown Court on Tuesday will sign the Sex Offender Register for ten years.

Detective Constable Darren Street from Milton Keynes Force CID said: “I am pleased that Clinkard has been brought to justice.

“To break into someone’s home and assault them when they are lying in their own bed, somewhere they should be entirely safe, is a complete violation.

“I hope that knowing he is behind bars will enable the victim and the rest of the community to sleep soundly now.

“Clinkard was in the process of burgling a house when he committed the sexual assault.

“Tackling and disrupting criminals who prey on our community is a priority.

“If you are a burglar it is only a matter of time before you are caught.”
