VISITORS to Bletchley Park on Sunday had the chance to celebrate Polish Day – introduced to commemorate the efforts of three Polish mathematicians in breaking the Enigma code.
Marian Rejewski, Henryk Zygalski and Jerzy Rozycki are permanently remembered on the Park’s Polish Memorial and on the day a new display, titled ‘Enigma. Decipher Victory’ by Anna Markiewicz-Zielinska was unveiled.
The day also included Polish dancing, food, displays, themed talks and a Dakota flypast .The Enigma Cinema also showed a film ‘The Bear’ and Polish childremn’s dancing group Lajkonik performed traditional dances.
