A Shelter Box to help those devastated by the recent typhoon in the Philippines has been donated bythe Rotary Club of Bletchley.

Shelter Box is an international disaster relief charity, started up by the Rotary movement in Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Each Shelter Box, costing £590, contains a family size tent designed to withstand extreme weather conditions, a water purification kit, blankets, tools and other necessities.

Sally Fennemore, president of the Rotary Club of Bletchley said: “Our charity funds are limited but we simply could not ignore the plight of the people in the Philippines who are suffering so much and who

will need support for many months to come.

“We know the boxes will be promptly distributed where they are needed most. If any individual would like to support the purchase of further boxes we would be pleased to receive donations which we will pass on to Shelter Box. Each gift will be acknowledged.”

Cheques should be made payable to The Rotary Club of Bletchley, and sent to, Sally Fennemore, President of the Rotary Club of Bletchley, 54 Walton Road, Wavendon, Milton Keynes,MK17 8LW.
