A 10-year-old boy was hit in the eye with an object thrown from a hotel window in The Hub.

The victim was passing the Ramada Encore Hotel when he was assaulted at about 6.50pm on Saturday.

He suffered swelling and a small cut to his eye, but did not need medical treatment.

PC Michelle Dempsey said: “I would appeal to anyone with any information about the offence to contact police via 101. “I would particularly appeal to a member of the public who shouted up at the window from where it is believed the object was thrown.
