Seventeen year old Bradley Kirkwood has made a great sacrifice in memory of his Grandfather – he has shaved off his beloved hair and in doing so has raised an astonishing £7,000 for Willen Hospice.

Bradley’s Grandfather Brian passed away on May 8 after a long battle with stomach cancer. During the final weeks of his life Willen Hospice helped by providing specialist care to Brian and support to his family.

Bradley was so touched by the kindness he received that he decided to do something to help. He said: “Willen Hospice do all this great work funded by donations and I want to do my bit to help. Anyone who knows me knows that my hair is important to me. But doing something for my Grandad and the Hospice is even more important.”

Bradley shaved his head in front of family and friends at Leighton Town Football Club’s presentation night. He had set himself a target to raise £500 which he hit in the first 24 hours and his total now stands at just over £7,000.

Bradley added “I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has donated to the cause in memory of my Grandad.”
