BREAKING: Fire near Milton Keynes railway suspected arson

A fire in Woburn Sands has caused chaos for motorists and train users.

The fire near the Bedford-Bletchley train track on Cranfield Road was reported to emergency sevices around 3.30pm today (Thursday), after residents saw black smoke.

Firefighters and police attended the incident and put out the fire, believed to be started deliberately in the small shed next to the rail track.

London Midland will be issuing an update shortly but it has been confirmed that the Bedford-Bletchley rail link will be temporarily stopped.

An eye witness, said: “I didn’t see anyone about, there was just a bang and suddenly thick smoke was pouring from near the track.

“Then I saw the flames, it came out of nowhere.

Motorists travelling near Cranfield Road should expect delays.

The fire is a suspected arson.
