THE man charged with the murder of Kim Jeffery was found dead in his Bedford Prison jail cell this morning (29/6).
Blake Ross 36, of Tavelhurst, Two Mile Ash, was due to face a murder charge after his plea for manslaughter was rejected.
He pleaded not guilty to murdering Kim Jeffery, 36, on April 10 this year but admitted manslaughter.
Judge Michael Baker QC remanded Ross in custody for a pre-trial hearing on October 11 and said his trial would begin in Luton Crown Court on October 31.
Ms Jeffery, also known as Kim Randall, died from stab wounds and facial injuries at the home she shared with Ross.
A Thames Valley Police spokesperson said: “Thames Valley Police can confirm Blake Ross was found dead in his cell at HMP Bedford at 5.45am this morning (30/6). The matter is not thought to be suspicious and a post-mortem will be carried in due course.”
