Burst water main causes flooding in Salford

Salford residents reached for their wellies this morning, when a burst water main caused flooding on Brittens Lane.

The problem was noticed at around 7.15am.

Anglian Water attended and the supply was turned off promptly, preventing any problems and minimising inconvenience.

“The water is subsiding now, but I still can’t get the car off the drive!” said Cllr Laing, who praised the water company for their swift action.

“They were also making provisions for the elderly in the bungalows in the area, in case they were needed,” she said.

“The milkman also needs praising for getting provisions through to everyone.”
