Bus campaigners are launching a marketing campaign to encourge more people to use local services.

The campaigners in the Simpson, Old Woughton and Woolstone areas are hoping to attract more passengers onto the improved Number 18 bus service. This follows the successful campaign by the three parish councils to get an improved hourly bus service through the village communities.

Council officers, the three parish councils, and the bus operators Z&S have met this week to agree the marketing campaign. Every local household will get a copy of the improved new timetable, and there will be a leaflet highlighting the many attractions and visitor destinations along the route.

Parish councillor Peter McDonald said: “Many thanks to council officers and to the bus company, who have been superb.”

Mr McDonald added: “We’ve persuaded MK Council to fund this service for local people. Now we have to make sure local people know about it and use it.”
