A business leader has been awarded an MBE in the new year honours list.
Dr Philip Smith, chairman of MK Business Leaders Partnership, has been made a Member of the Order of the British Empire for services to business and the community of Milton Keynes.
This week he paid tribute to the organisations he supports.
He said: “I am humbled that my efforts have been rewarded in this way. I try to put what I can into the roles I perform in MK, but this is something special.”
The 69-year-old is a qualified accountant and a Rotarian and he has been a senior executive in a number of blue chip companies including ASDA Group and National Power and he is a director of several other companies.
He is also a director of Destination MK, The Stables, MK City Orchestra, Bucks and MK Sports Partnership and Biztech.
