Bid to save life of Henry Allen gets a £1,000 pledge boost

A parcel company has delivered a £1,000 pledge to a four year-old cancer sufferer’s charity appeal.

Logistics firm UK Mail have pledged to donate the money to help raise £500,000 to send Henry Allen abroad for treatment for neuroblastoma.

Guy Buswell, chief executive of UK Mail said: “There are many charities close to everyone’s hearts for various reasons.

“We want to show our staff we are committed to them and their campaign therefore donating extra money to their hard earned funds raised.

“We are delighted to be able to contribute towards some fantastic causes and look forward to strengthening our relationships with many more charities across the UK amd beyond.

“We wish The Henry Appeal all the success and hope the charity ball goes well.”

The charity ball will be held at Doubletree by Hilton Hotel in Milton Keynes on Saturday, September 14 in association with Families Against Neuroblastoma.

Organisers Lisa Forrest and UK Mail employee Emma Boulton aim to raise over £5,000 from the event to add to the £80,000-plus in the coffers since the appeal was set up in February.

The charity ball will feature live music from local artists Nicky Prince and her band Soul Selecta and Katie Buckhaven, who was discovered by Michael Parkinson.

There will also be a raffle and silent auction with prestigious prizes, a photographer and radio station MKFM.

It has a black tie dress code and tickets are priced at £55 per person to will include a three course meal with complimentary wine.
