A popular Milton Keynes business leader was given a round of applause at a city networking meeting... even though he wasn’t there to accept it!
The crowd of about 80 business people at Midsummer Breakfast Club, at Jurys Inn, applauded entrepreneur Nicholas Mann for his achievement in guiding his firm, full service agency Interdirect, to its 18th anniversary.
Many businesses don’t survive for even three years so the networkers, who are often joined by Mr Mann, were showing their approval to the company based at Whitsundoles Farm, Salford.
Mr Mann founded Interdirect in 1995 and it specialises in digital design and development and has since witnessed tremendous growth to become an agency with a portfolio of PR, marketing and digital expertise.
Interdirect has survived recessions and the infamous Dotcom crash of techie companie and now employs more than 20 staff. It works with brands including the John Lewis Partnership and the Institute of Chartered Accounts in England and Wales, as well as working with large scale local businesses, such as Millbrook Proving Ground and Whittlebury Hall.
Mr Mann said he always wanted to be his own boss. He said: “I always knew I wanted to run my own business... I just wasn’t sure what that business was to be! After beginning my career as a management accountant at Cranfield University, combining my technical and accounting knowledge allowed me to launch Interdirect and turn my passion for emerging internet technologies into a business.
“Over the 18 years Interdirect has seen more changes than most; it has evolved naturally from its digital roots to being full service in 2009, an adaptation to the changing demands of the industry. The lines between the traditional disciplines have blurred to such an extent that we have to be able to deliver a full service to our clients.”
To mark 18 years of success Interdirect is hosting an exclusive evening of celebrations on November 21 at The Hub; ID18.
