A MILTON Keynes shopping centre’s gift wrapping service raised £7,000 for charity in just three weeks.
Throughout December shoppers at Midsummer Place donated cash to have their Christmas presents wrapped by volunteers.
The effort raised vital funds for Advantage Africa, which helps people affected by poverty, disability and AIDS.
More than 70 volunteers, including mums, students, retired, unemployed and employed gave their time to the cause which raised enough to support 30 people living with AIDS with nutrition, medicines and emotional support.
Centre manager, Martin Hindson said: “Both Midsummer Place and Advantage Africa are thrilled so much money has been raised. The service is a great asset to Midsummer Place over the busy Christmas period and we would like to thank our customers for donating so generously, as well as to the volunteers”
