A Milton Keynes company was so pleased that it took the decision to go to an expo in Chicago, USA, after doing nearly £1million of business.

Morgana Systems, in Davy Avenue, makes 4,000 finishing products each year, including creasers, cutters, feeders and folders with more than 85 per cent destined for growing export markets.

Morgana’s MD Quen Baum said: “We actually did have some doubts with regard to showing at Graph Expo this year. I am glad we did decide to make the investment. It has paid off handsomely for us, with record orders. I was so impressed that I have already booked again for next year!

“Our booth was very busy at all times; we were even busy on the Sunday afternoon following the Chicago marathon. Generally visitors seemed a lot more upbeat and were there to buy, not just to look.”

Deals were done on “approaching three figures” in terms of the number of machines. Morgana wouldn’t say exactly how much the deals were worth but said in very rough terms its not going to be too far away from £1 million of business.

Mr Baum added: “There is a definite demand for short-run, high-quality binding that most other suppliers seem unable to meet.”
