A MILTON Keynes company has installed the first of what it calls a revolutionary kind of solar panel roof mounting system.
Conergy UK, appropriately based in Luminous House, South Row, has the new system, which uses a vacuum to hold the frame down instead of screws.
The new Solar Famulus Air mounting took two weeks to install on the roof at the Nationwide Building Society HQ in Swindon.
Robert Goss, Conergy UK’s MD said: “The Solar Famulus Air system is not only very practical, but its wave-like design is very attractive in its own right. It’s great to show it off on such a high profile building. At Conergy we believe aesthetics and innovative design will be a big driver for low carbon technology.”
The project is expected to generate more than 45,000 kW annually, saving 20 tonnes of carbon dioxide a year.
