A PRIME city centre housing and retail development is back on track.
The Milton Keynes Partnership has received government approval to get the site in the Sustainable Residential Quarter in West End approved for 400 homes, office and retail space and a new 200 bed hotel.
The project required government approval to change in detail after initial plans to create a 650 apartment-led scheme on the site became unviable in the housing market crash.
The scheme is located opposite the Sainsbury’s store / Vizion housing development on Witan Gate.
It is hoped a developer will be appointed in the summer, with work starting in early 2012 following a planning application. The project would be completed in 2014/15.
