LABOUR’S Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury, Rachel Reeves MP visited the city last week to launch Labour’s 5-Point plan for jobs and growth.
She met with representatives from thecentre:mk, Milton Keynes Chamber of Commerce and businesses on Monday, October 17.
She said: “This is a really worrying time for families; struggling with higher food prices and gas bills and worries about their jobs and their children’s futures.
“I am looking forward to launching Labour’s plan for jobs and growth in Milton Keynes. These are emergency measures to help boost the economy.”
Andrew Pakes, Labour and Co-operative Parliamentary Spokesman for Milton Keynes said the move is more important than ever, adding: “After another month of disappointing unemployment figures in Milton Keynes we clearly need a new plan to get people back to work.
“There are now over 1,700 young people signing on across the city, 240 more than this time last year.
“We desperately need this plan for jobs and growth.”
