Residents, visitors and businesses to Milton Keynes are being urged to join a campaign to set a trend on Twitter.
Destination Milton Keynes, the new city’s official tourism organisation, wants people to tweet what’s great about the new city on Wednesday, May 1.
So whether it’s the shopping, the roads, the grid road system, the roundabouts, the park land, Bletchley Park, a great business, Destination MK wants you to send out a tweet about it with the hashtag #LoveMK.
The aim is to not only promote Milton Keynes as a leisure and business destination but also to harness the pride many people have in their city.
Carys Underwood, marketing manager at DMK, said “We’re hoping that the Twitter community will help us out and get #LoveMK trending across the UK on May 1 to not only promote MK as a destination but to show how much pride they have in the place that they live and work.”
The visitor economy is worth over £200 million to the area and encouraging the community to get involved in promoting their city, it could increase the wider benefits even further, she believes.
To get involved and to show your support just use #LoveMK on any tweets sent out on May 1 and help spread the love.
Destination Milton Keynes is on Twitter at @DestinationMK and will be offering special competitions and offers on the day.
