Business advisors in Milton Keynes see financial matters as key concerns for the region’s companies in 2011.
More than 20 senior lawyers, bankers and other advisors in Milton Keynes were polled at an event held by PwC to discuss the regional economy and the key challenges ahead.
Almost half saw managing cashflow as the key challenge for local businesses.
A further 34 per cent believe funding expansion will be the biggest concern, with a clear majority (85 per cent) believing businesses need to be more realistic when it comes to refinancing debt.
Andy Groves, senior partner at PwC Milton Keynes, said: “Our findings indicate that 2011 is going to be a challenging year for businesses on a number of levels, particularly as the effects of fiscal policy on the economy become clearer. The formation of Local Enterprise Partnerships could drive growth but to maximise benefit to the business community, it is essential there is a mutual interest to work as one region.”
