A former Little Chef south of Milton Keynes is to be turned into a McDonald’s.

Local McDonald’s franchisee Ken Tomkins will open a new 130-seater drive thru restaurant at the A5 roundabout at Brickhill in mid May on the site previously occupied by Little Chef.

Mr Tomkins, already franchisee of McDonald’s at Xscape and Westcroft, is starting to recruit immediately for up to 100 full and part-time positions.

Mr Tomkins said: “In these tough economic conditions I am particularly proud to be able to create jobs for local people with the opening of this new restaurant.”

The restaurant will be open 24/7 from the start, with a double-lane drive thru, or either of the two dining areas. This striking new design over two floors is one of the first to open in the UK and will feature a variety of the latest innovations in kitchen and customer service technology.

Mr Tomkins added: “All of the managers for this opening have been developed within our two existing restaurants in recent months and we will quickly be looking for talent amongst our new recruits who wish to progress into management positions in the future.”

He added that McDonald’s offers a flexible work schedule and excellent training, with the opportunity to achieve nationally recognised qualifications and a great team environment for people of all ages which allows them to achieve their potential and have fun at work.

To apply, candidates should visit and follow directions using the postcode of the restaurant MK17 9RB.
