Students, academics and new businesses will come together in Milton Keynes to create new products and world-beating companies.

That’s the central idea behind the Innovation Den being launched at University Campus Milton Keynes (UCMK), in Central Milton Keynes, on Thursday, November 14.

The aim is to attract the brightest minds from across a range of businesses, large and small, the academic sector and the talented pool of students from in and around Milton Keynes. It will provide an incubator space and environment that will encourage creativity within both the technology and wider domains.

It evolved from discussions between MK Gateway, Biztech and UCMK and the Innovation Den will be managed by MK Biztech Gateway Ltd which has a constituted board representing business, the new University Campus Milton Keynes and Milton Keynes Council. MK Biztech Gateway Limited was formed from the previous MK Gateway Ltd established to foster emerging businesses after the demise of MKELP.

The launch event, between 5.30-7.30pm will host speakers including Bill Rammell, vice chancellor, University of Bedfordshire, Mayor of Milton Keynes, Councillor Brian White and Fredi Nonyelu and Dr Philip Smith of MK Biztech Gateway. It is free to attend.

The event will also host Biztech’s regular ‘Ask the Expert’ forum and will see Lee Barney from Securm talk about IT Security.
