A PRIVATE school in Milton Keynes will be re-opening on September 5 with a brand new identity based on the new city’s history.
Bury Lawn School, in Soskin Drive, Stantonbury Fields, has changed its name to The Webber Independent School.
The name is from the urban designer and theorist believed to be responsible for Milton Keynes’ unique layout, Melvin M. Webber.
Webber Independent School, for pupils aged three to 18, has a new logo, below, that was designed by Year 7 pupil Haruka Kanasugi.
There’s even a new principal, Sue Vig, who promises to create a a vibrant, dynamic and engaging environment to demonstrate the excitement of learning. She will also be listening to students.
She said: “It is crucial to listen to our students and respect their views and thoughts, they may not always be correct but we must not oppress their opinions; instead we should nurture them and create objectivity.”
The school will open with new state-of-the-art ICT (Information Computer Technology) equipment, a new learning zone, and larger library.
