The activities will be held between 10am and 2pm and will include face painting, cake stalls, street dancing, salsa, henna painting, mini manicures, hair braiding, and a circus entertainer. There will also be activities for young children including play dough, sand and bricks.

Refreshments will include Caribbean/African food alongside ice cream and non-alcoholic cocktails named after the centre.

Hummingbird Children’s Centre, which is run by Milton Keynes Council, offers a range of services to families with children under five such as stay and play sessions, a young parents support group, messy play, community information and advice, a childminders group, a new baby clinic and fun play sessions and ideas.

Yvonne Brown, centre coordinator, said: “We have welcomed a large number of local families to our centre over the past two years, offering them the support they need to make their family life a little easier. This event will be an opportunity to mark our success so far, as well as welcome new families to come and see us and use our services.”

The celebration event is open to all. Events will be held in and around the centre at Shackerstone Close, Milton Road, Broughton, Milton Keynes, MK10 9LS.
