Call for support ar Race for Life numbers lag in Milton Keynes

Particpant numbers are far fewer than expected, with just 2,351 signed-up out of the anticipated 3,500.

Organisers have now sent out a heartfelt plea for more ladies to step up and help the event reach its potential.
“We are concerned that places in this year’s Race for Life have been slow to fill, while other events around the UK have been snapped up quickly,” said Cara Waller, area event manager for Cancer Research UK.

“It could be that many women have simply forgotten to enter this year, or, having completed the event previously, feel that they don’t need to take part again.

“We want to remind these ‘missing’ women’ just how important their contribution is.

“One in two people in the UK will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lives.

“Research is very expensive and the only way we can afford to fund it, and save lives is with their help.”
