Members meet monthly in the Chambers in Milton Keynes Council’s Civic Offices to discuss plans together with councillors.

Young people don’t need to have any special skills or qualifications to put themselves forward for election – candidates just need to be between 11 and 18 years old and passionate about representing the views of other young people.

They just need the time, drive and ambition to make things happen.

Roz Mascarenhas, Youth Participation Worker, said: “Young people can really change and influence things by representing their peers across Milton Keynes through the Youth Cabinet.

“It is also something that looks great on your CV. I would strongly encourage all young people with a

passion for enacting change to nominate themselves for election.”

Responsibilities of a YCAB Member involve a monthly meeting on a Saturday from 10am - 4:30pm in Central Milton Keynes and fortnightly meetings after school 4pm - 6pm.

Members must also be able to attend a free residential visit from February 15–17.
