A 93-YEAR-OLD woman has had her purse stolen while she was out shopping in Olney on Thursday.
Thames Valley Police has now released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the theft.
Between 12.15pm and 12.25pm on Thursday, the woman was shopping with her personal assistant at Tesco Express in Market Place when she had her purse stolen.
The offender pushed between the victim and her assistant a couple of times in the store, asking the price of goods on the shelves. The offender was then seen running out of the store. When the victim went to pay for her shopping she found her purse was missing from her bag.
The purse stolen was a red leather purse containing £250 and bank cards.
The offender is described as an Asian/Middle Eastern man, aged between 30 to 40-years-old and around 6ft. He had short dark hair, was of medium/stocky build and was wearing white cricket type trousers, with a white linen jacket and a shirt.
PC Daniel Smith, from Newport Pagnell police station, said: “I would like to hear from anyone who can help identify this man as I believe he has information that could be useful in our enquiries.
“If anyone saw a man matching the description getting into a vehicle in or around the Market Place in Olney, they should contact police.”
Anyone with any information should contact PC Smith via the 24-hour Thames Valley Police Enquiry Line on 101.
