Central Milton Keynes to be bathed in Christmas lights

For the third year running Midsummer Boulevard, the spine of Central Milton Keynes, will be lit for Christmas thanks to Milton Keynes City Centre Management and their partners intu Milton Keynes and centre:mk.

Midsummer Boulevard, which connects Milton Keynes Railway Station to the main business and shopping areas and stretches as far as Milton Keynes Theatre and Gallery, will light up for the Christmas period launching on Saturday 12 November with a festive light switch on event located at the horseshoe area outside intu Milton Keynes.

Kicking off at 3pm,Father Christmas himself will appear at 4.45pm to switch on the lights with a helping hand from the Mayor of Milton Keynes, Cllr Steve Coventry. The switch on will be followed by a sparkling laser and pyrotechnic display which will light up the city skyline.

City Centre Manager Melanie Beck said: “The response to the city lights has been fantastic over the last two years, and so we hope the residents of Milton Keynes will turn out to join us once again in celebrating the start of Christmas in Central Milton Keynes!”
