The Sue Ryder charity has entered into a partnership with London Luton Airport.

In 2011, London Luton Airport launched the company-wide charity of the year partnership after they had asked their staff to shortlist potential charities and then invited the public to vote. The aim of the partnership was to raise £80,000 by the end of 2013 for Sue Ryder.

During the two year partnership, staff members held fundraising events locally and internationally, raising more than £100,000 in the process, which in real terms means over 12,000 hours of incredible care which Sue Ryder can provide locally.

Highlights include the Airport’s ‘Meet The Buyer’ networking event, donations made raised over £6,000. Following this, 19 cyclists including the airport’s Operations Directors, rode 328 miles to Paris and raised £35,000.

After a quick ‘refuel’ Sue Ryder are getting ready for the return trip as Charity Partner 2014 and 2015, with the following two years promising to help deliver even more incredible care.
