CHILDREN at Asquith Nursery in Woburn Sands have taken part in a Grow Your Own activity.

Endorsed by Frosts Garden Centre, the project aimed to encourage young children to take an active interest in growing their own fruit and vegetables. The vegetables were planted by Frosts member of staff Maurice Rust back in April, and have now been harvested by the children and cooked into a healthy meal by the nursery’s chef.

Managing Director at Frosts Garden Centre, James Frost, said: “This is a wonderful example of how children can have fun growing their own vegetables and then enjoy the rewards of their hard work, care and patience. The food was wonderful and the company made it a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.”
