RECIPE FOR SUCCESS: These children put their cake making skills to the test

Cakes for Kids aims to raise £50,000 for Children in Need and local charities by producing the longest line of cakes ever recorded.

More than 14,000 cakes are need to break the current world record, and all must be baked to an identical recipe.

Already schools and organisations all over Milton Keynes have pledged to hold mass bake-ins ready for D Day next Friday, November 14.

Official collection points have been organised for people to drop off their offerings the day before.

Volunteers from John Lewis and Waitrose will use their lorries and vans to collect the cakes and transport them to the final venue at Middleton Hall, thecentre:mk.

A Waitrose spokesman said: “The route has been carefully planned and tested ready for a full day of cupcake deliveries.

Cakes for Kids organiser, Woburn Sands mum Dabinder Hutchinson, is urging everybody to join in to raise as much money as possible.
