A new charity to Milton Keynes has already made a vital contribution to the young, old and disabled, according to a city MP.

The Papworth Trust Home Solutions team were in full swing when Mark Lancaster, MP for Milton Keynes North, went to see the construction of a disability ramp at the rear of a client’s home.

The Papworth Trust offers a handyman service providing low cost help with jobs in the home, for example fitting hand rails, putting up shelves, plumbing and repairs to improve safety.

The team can also offer free practical advice and support on topics including finances, improving security and keeping homes warm.

Mr Lancaster said: “The Papworth Trust has clearly made a difference to this client who now has safe access into his home.

“It was also heart warming to hear of the independence that he will regain and that he will be able to continue to live in his home of almost 40 years.”
