A city mum who is dedicated to helping others has been recognised for her efforts.
Lucy Davies has been crowned SuperMum after being nominated by her 11-year-daughter Shannon for her selflessness, dedication to her family and charity work.
The award has been made by Shoe Zone which celebrates the great things that mums do day to day and this month Lucy has been rewarded for her efforts in looking after the entire Davis family and pets - and cooking for the homeless people of the city too.
Lucy, who wins £200 of shopping vouchers, said: “I had no idea that Shannon nominated me and thought this was a scam at first!
“Life can be tough as a mum and you always have to put your family first. It’s a real balancing act but it’s still so important to help others who have less than you.
“I try to help the homeless as much as I can, especially in the winter and around Christmas time when many of them aren’t surrounded by their families.”
High-street and online retailer Shoe Zone launched the SuperMums campaign to give something back to marvellous mums.
Naomi Shefford, marketing director, said: “There are so many mums across the UK who put their family’s needs above their own, and we think it’s only right to give something back to some of the unsung heroines with our SuperMums campaign.
“When we heard Lucy’s story, we knew she particularly deserved a SuperMum accolade. It was a tough choice with over 250 nominations last month but Lucy’s story was just so special, she really stood out.”
