City to get its own currency

MILTON Keynes is set to introduce its own currency as part of a a new government initiative.

The scheme, which is set to boost the flagging economy, will be rolled out across the UK and see a range of notes minted denoting famous landmarks with Milton Keynes chosen to spearhead the drive.

Landmarks to feature on the new MK notes will include Willen Hospice, Jim Marshall, head of Marshall Amplification, the Xscape building and football team the MK Dons.

The new notes will be in circulation around the city from today, Friday.
