At least six city people have been selected to carry the Olympic Torch ahead of this summer’s games.

Katie Spaughton, 13, from Browns Wood will be carrying the torch when it passes through Rugby on July 2. The teenager was chosen for her good work with Endurance GB, teaching riders about competitive long distance riding.

Gloria Chaplin, 69, will be carrying the flame in Winslow on July 9 - the day it is also due to visit Milton Keynes.

Allan Grainger and Luke Webb will be carrying the torch in Milton Keynes on July 9 with Hazel Staten and Sean Vendy running the torch through Bletchley on the same date.
