Coast to coast marathon for two city pals
Two lifelong pals are to run across the country to raise funds for poor children in Kenya.
Ele Parrott, aged 30, a nurse in the acute medical unit at Milton Keynes Hospital, and Emma Beasley, aged 31, who works as a PA in the city, are to run 322 miles from St David’s Head in Wales to Clacton over 13 days, running close to a half marathon each day and starting on Monday, June 20.
The two women have run a number of marathons and other challenges. Two years ago they cycled from John O’Groats to Lands End together which led them wanting to run across the country this year.
The duo will be raising money for the UK charity Action This Day Kenya, which provides education to desperately poor children in Mombasa and gives safe shelter to children at risk of abuse. They will be collaborating with schools and local children’s groups along our the route to raise awareness of the charity and to teach children about the benefits of exercise.
