Milton Keynes College students have been putting their business skills to the test by designing and marketing their own six-inch SUBWAY® sandwiches.
Schools, colleges and sixth forms have spent the past weeks working on entries for the competition, which could see their Sub sold in SUBWAY® stores across the region and win the team £1,000 worth of Amazon vouchers.
Seven teams from Milton Keynes College have now submitted entries and are hoping theirs will be this year’s winning design.
Pupils were tasked with creating a marketing campaign and business plan based on the theme of #heartfeltsubs. To create a successful campaign, students were asked to consider their target market, competitors, pricing and promotional plans, encouraging research, collaboration and team building skills.
Students now face a nerve-wracking wait to find out if their design has been shortlisted and whether they will be asked to present their ideas to a panel of SUBWAY® brand experts in a Dragon’s Den-style pitch later this year.
SUBWAY® brand entrepreneur Bob Moodliar, who will sit on the judging panel for the final pitches, said: “The SUBWAY® brand wanted to give local students a platform to spotlight their entrepreneurial skills and this challenge will help them do just that. As part of our ongoing commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility, we are pleased to be showcasing the fresh thinking and entrepreneurial spirit of young people in the region.”
The six shortlisted schools will be announced on November 8.
