AN Elephant’s tusk and a rotor from the world famous Enigma machine are just two items going on display to help launch the new Discover Milton Keynes exhibitions showcase.
Mayor of Milton Keynes, Councillor Debbie Brock, will be on hand at the Milton Keynes Library on January 27.
The first exhibition, The History of Milton Keynes in 100 objects – the first 15, will be running between January 27 and March 9.
Items have been contributed by Milton Keynes Council, MK Museum, the Cowper and Newton Museum, The Living Archive and the City Discovery Centre.
Cabinet member for heritage, Councillor Chris Williams, said: “During the two and a half years that phase 1 was open the average number of monthly visits more than tripled from 1,000 per month in 2008 to over 3,000 per month in 2010.
“Now Phase 2 will emulate that success within the Central Library, one of the most visited in the UK.”
