Complaints against Thames Valley Police increase

The number of complaints made against Thames Valley Police increased by nine per cent last year.

A report from the Independent Police Complaints Commission published today shows there were 1,043 complaints made during 2013-14 in comparison to 954 in 2012/13.

It was a record high for the number made against England and Wales officers, with a 15 per cent increase on the previous year.

A total of 34,864 complaint cases were recorded - the highest number since the IPCC was established in 2004.
