Continuing torrential rain and storms cause more damage and flooding in Milton Keynes

Heavy storms and torrential rain took their toll on Milton Keynes again yesterday, with widespread flooding and more damage to properties.

It was the second time in less than a week that the city was hit by the extreme weather.

Two houses were damaged by lightning - a house roof was hit by a lightning strike in Broxbourne Close, Giffard Park, and internal wiring was damaged at a house in Pinkworthy, Furzton.

Flooding also affected parts of Bradwell Common, Greensand View in Woburn Sands, Rooksley Retail park and an office in Kiln Farm, and at Milton Keynes Hospital internal flooding hit the Accident & Emergency department.
