A seven-year-old boy hoping to raise £250,000 for his cancer treatment was given an ice surprise at the weekend.
Frosts at Woburn Sands donated its ice rink and cafe to Mad About Harry, a charity set up by Milton Keynes mums. They held a disco on Sunday and raised £6,500.
Harry Banks, who has stage four cancer of the immune system, needs £218,500 more to be treated abroad.
Sophie Gandesha, chairman of Mad About Harry, said: “The afternoon was a great success, not only did we raise a huge amount of money for Harry, it was a very enjoyable end to a weekend.
“The afternoon ran very smoothly thanks to the Frosts team, it was a great success and everyone had a fabulous time skating.
“We made a whopping £6,500 which is the most amount of money raised at one event.”
James Frost, Managing Director for Frosts Garden Centre, said: “We were delighted to support Mad About Harry and this was a fantastic way to do so.
“The event was excellently organised and everyone had a wonderful time skating; I’m so thrilled that we were able to help them raise such a brilliant amount of money towards getting Harry the treatment he needs.”
